I'm Elizabeth Dickerson and I...

Always check your oil before taking a journey...

Here's a listing of meetings you might want to know about. There is a lot going on at city council right now that has direct impact on YOU. This is your council. Since I have been inoffice, I have learned what it is like to be on the other side of the podium. You elected me, but it takes all of us to pull the weight. Democracy isn't just electing the right people: it's being the right people.

If you have any meetings that you think people would like to know about, that you want to add, call me at 207-596-0028,
or email lizzie.dickerson@gmail.com

YOCAT- Youth Oriented Community Action Team of Greater Rockland

YOCAT is a group made up of former Home Counselors employees who worked at the now closed Teen Homeless Shelter, concerned adults, teen participants, and library staff.

They meet at St. Peter's Church in Rockland, on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month, in the Vestry Room on the third floor of St. Peter's Episcopal Church.

If you are interested in being a part of this group, contact Trish Goodspeed or call me at 207-596-0028 and I will put in touch with the right people.

Many people come and go from the library every day, but how many of us realize that the young people hanging around the campus could be at risk or homeless? Since the teen shelter that was in the Flatiron Building closed, many of these young people have no safe place to go. Yocat has formed to address the problem, and to create programming that intervenes at critical moments in the lives of our future leaders, workers and thinkers: the teenagers of Rockland, Maine and surrounding environs.
